A 100% CONVENIENT ONLINE EDUCATION
UMCA Theological College uses Modular system, where lectures are delivered entirely online. While it’s not necessary to be physically present in a classroom, students at UMCA Theological College are part of a strong and lively online academic environment.
Courses are led by qualified facilitators who guide and support students throughout each course. Students also engage with one another through online discussion forums and peer-to-peer reviews in small classes with personal attention.
Courses are built from reading assignments and discussion forums. Video materials are also available to students, but only as extra learning material, and it is not mandatory to watch them. Our virtual labs and online internship options ensure that students at UMCA Theological College can successfully conduct their entire academic experience online, wherever they are located.
BUILDING TEAMS AND CONNECTIONS WHILE STUDYING AT UMCA THEOLOGICAL COLLEGE
Online student forums and peer review groups are one of the most valuable aspects of the UMCA Theological College experience. Students make connections from all around the world. This is a resource for sharing information, wisdom, and support, as well as for building a vibrant, international network.
Students at UMCA Theological College participate in a system of peer assessments of presentation (webinar). Through grading and reviewing classmates’ presentation, students sharpen their critical skills and benefit from classmates’ assessments as well. The final grade is based on a combination of peer-graded work, instructor-graded work and a final exam.
WORKING WITH QUALIFIED EMINENT PROFESSORS, ADVISORS, MENTORS, FACILITATORS AND INSTRUCTORS
All students are guided by the administrative arm of the online program. The advisor is to help students succeed in their programs. Ready to answer questions, offer support and give advice. The advisor is a key part of our educational system.
Students may also have a chance to work remotely with a mentor. Our resource persons are highly respected Pastors, Reverends and Eminent Professors with Evangelical and Pentecostal distinctives, and are home and abroad. They are there as Mentors to help our students identify and achieve their spiritual, professional and academic goals.
It is crucial to note that, students receive one-on-one feedback and guidance from their facilitators. For each course, students have a page on the portal of the College, which is only seen by the student and the administrator, and the facilitators for the course each of them takes the student. This ensures that students have regular, personal access to their facilitators and give facilitators insight into each individual student performance and understanding of the material and their progression in the course.
WORKING INDEPENDENTLY
Students at UMCA Theological College who enroll for online program have the freedom to study according to their own schedules. Our classrooms can be wherever our students want, so long as there is an internet connection. Students are provided with self-administered assessment to help understand course material and prepare for tests. Every course assigns a weekly reading assignment and discussion assignment (to be completed in the group forum). Some weeks, students have a written assignment/activity or a programming assignment (depending on the course of study). Students communicate with their instructors through their portal page and via email, messaging.
STRUCTURING OF ONLINE COURSES AT UMCA THEOLOGICAL COLLEGE
Each course is (15 contact) 15 weeks long and comprises maximum of 15 units of study (per week). Students should expect to dedicate about (2) to (3) hours per week to each course.

COURSE FORUM
The course forum is the platform where issues and questions relating to the course are raised. It is regularly monitored by the instructors, and is a good place to meet fellow students taking the same course. Participation in the forum is not compulsory, but is highly recommended.
CATEGORIZATION OF COURSES
Courses are categorized as follows:
• Compulsory: Courses specified by the Department which a student must take and pass before graduation.
• Required: Courses which a student must take because such courses enhance one understands of the pertinent courses or discipline. Required courses should also be passed.
• Electives: Courses which a student can take in order to make up the required units for graduation.
REGISTRATION
1. All registrations are done online: visit the College website.
2. Registration of courses shall take place at a specified period at the beginning of each moodle. Each student shall, therefore, be required to register for the programme of study for which s/he has been accepted or registered online as guided.
3. Students shall pay all prescribed fees to the designated banks online. (more information on the College web.)
4. When students pay their fees, there shall be a receipt which shall be issued the student online.
5. A student must register for all the compulsory and required courses prescribed by the Postgraduate School Board.
6. Matriculation shall be done online.
7. All official suggestions, complaints and excuses from the students shall be communicated to the Provost through the Registrar for prompt address.
8. No student shall be permitted to have access to the online facility of the College until she/he has registered.

As students progress towards graduation, they can make use of our degree audit tool, which tells students which requirements they have fulfilled and which requirements they have yet to fulfill. For example, the degree audit tool will say: “You have taken 3 out of 4 Elective Courses – you need to take one more elective course to graduate. This tool can be run in the UMCA Theological College portal
When students have successfully completed all of their required courses, they can apply for graduation through the student portal. The Student Services department will check that all requirements have been met. The day of graduation will then be communicated to the student. After graduation, students are eligible to join our alumni group.
